Activity 2: Instrument Construction Steps

  1. Read first the Holmbeck and Devine article and note in particular the questionnaire development checklist they offer beginning on page 3 in the appendix.

  2. Use the checklist offered by Holmbeck and Devine as a model for questionnaire development. Compare the questionnaire steps taken by Ragheb and Beard to the Holmbeck and Devine model; note differences if any arise.

  3. Use the checklist offered by Holmbeck and Devine as a model for questionnaire development. Compare the questionnaire steps taken by Menon to the Holmbeck and Devine model; note differences if any arise.

  4. Base your response to the following questions on the information learned in the three articles:
